Design and Controls
The Xiaomi In-Ear Headphones Pro HD has some serious ergonomic design. The in-ear part of the earphones is 45 degree angled which follows the normal shape of the ears making it comfortable to use even for extended period.
The microphone and the control buttons have very good minimalistic design. It is positioned nicely, 6 inches away from the right earpiece and 3 inches away from the mouth when used. The three buttons act as the main controls when listening to music and identical to one another, giving it a nice, clean and elegant look. The microphone sits at the back part of the controls and is barely noticeable.
When listening to music, the middle button when clicked once acts as pause and play button and skips to the next track when clicked twice. The other two buttons serve as volume up and down. During a call, the middle button lets you answer and end calls. However, all of these functionalities only work with Android devices and this is not surprising, given that Xiaomi is into Android smart devices. But this doesn’t mean it won’t work with iPhone or iOS devices, in fact you will also get almost all button functionalities except for the volume controls.
The Xiaomi In-Ear Headphones Pro HD doesn’t feel cheap. The entire build quality is well-made from various materials such as metal and durable rubber and plastic. Making the entire earphones feeling and looking high quality.
The earphone’s outer body is made from pure metal, aluminum to be exact. And creates this very nice glossy and metallic finish with some very fine details. The metal material also gives extra protection to the delicate inner parts of the earphones. The wires are made from thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) or a mixture of polymers that are usually plastic and rubber. It feels sturdy for everyday use. And it has a very smooth finish and silky feel. In addition, it doesn’t get tangled easily, making storage inside the included pouch effortless.
The mic and the buttons are also protected with a metal body except for the actual buttons that feel and click like plastic.
The 3.5mm jack is gold plated. Unlike most earphones that cover this jack with plastic, the Xiaomi In-Ear Headphones Pro HD has metal and some additional rubber to protect this delicate part of the product.
Xiaomi In-Ear Headphones Pro HD uses a patented drivers – a hybrid dual dynamic and balanced armature drivers which is said to deliver greater and finer details when listening to music. And this is something I can guarantee after using the earphones for months now. Clearly, this can really blow you away with how clear and crisp audio comes out of it. In fact, almost everything I listen to using this earphones sounds really high-definition (HD), given of course that the source is in high-quality (HQ), lossless or uncompressed.
I listen to my Deezer music collection at enhanced quality (320kbps) or Hi-fi (FLAC 1411kbps) which consists of pop to electronic music. And everything sounds clear and crisp. The bass is powerful but not too overwhelming. While the mids and highs come out in perfect balance with the bass with outstanding clarity.
To be honest, I am really surprised with the amount of details this earphones is letting me hear. It’s easy to miss delicate details in music with a very bad set of earphones but using this earphones will make every subtle sound audible enough in surprising clearness. I let other people try this earphone while listening to their favorite tracks and the responses are mutual, this one can easily immerse anyone with its superb sound output.
The Xiaomi In-Ear Headphones Pro HD is a great piece of in-ear earphones. The awesome build quality together with its superb sound clarity makes this product highly recommended especially to those looking for a replacement for whatever comes with their smartphones. I’ve tried other in-ear earphones within the same price range but the Xiaomi In-Ear Headphones Pro HD easily goes on top. I would easily recommend this set of earphones to people who want clarity for Xiaomi In-Ear Headphones Pro HD is one of the best sounding in-ear earphones I’ve used in years and given its inviting price tag, no one could go wrong choosing this one among the earphones in its saturated market.
