If you are looking for a cheap gaming headset that just works, consider getting the Sades SA-902 Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset because it’s affordable, durable-enough and just works as you would expect from a gaming headset.
Unfortunately, the Sades SA-902 is not available in the Philippines, so importing is the only option in getting one. And you could read my other blog – My Experience Ordering Imported Goods On Lazada as a guide how I did it.

The Sades SA-902 is made by a chinese company specializing in gaming accessories such as mouse, keyboards and headsets. After using the headset for weeks, I am convinced that Sades is as serious as those popular brands like Razer, Logitech and Kingston in manufacturing gaming accessories for gamers.
Clearly, Sades is new to the business which only started selling gaming products a few years ago. But according to their site’s about page, Sades has been sponsoring some competitive teams in e-sports tournaments like the OMG clan of League of Legends as well as the world champion Th000 of Warcraft III and partnering with international e-sports competition such as WCG, ESWC and ONG as peripheral partner.
Build Quality, Sound Quality and Extra Features
Considering the Sades SA-902 budget friendly price tag, you would expect it to be entirely made out of plastic and other cheap materials. This is slightly true but the materials still feel and look durable-enough to last for years.
This headset uses a USB in connecting to a computer. The cable is completely braided making it strong in resisting tensions from accidental stretching and pulling. It is fairly long at 3.0 meters in length.
32 inches away from the headset is a set of buttons made of plastic with a glossy finish. The buttons click nicely and would probably survive a thousand presses. It has a total of four buttons – two for the volume up and down and two for separately muting the mic and sound. And when the mic is muted, a light appears in the middle of the control unit as an indicator.
The headphone drivers are covered with glossy, plastic shells in a shape of a snake or cobra head with illuminating eyes.
The sound quality is surprisingly good, balanced and pleasant. Given its very affordable price, I was expecting it would lack some bass and be more treble-focused but I was completely wrong. The bass maybe lacking by default but it is there when needed and very prominent when listening to rap or hip-hop music. It may not be heart pounding at first which would probably disappoint bass lovers but it could be increased dramatically by tweaking some of its settings. And even with some tweaking done to increase the bass output, it still tags along really well with the mids and highs which are both clear and crisp and very similar to the sound quality of my Hi-Fi in-ear earphones. All in all, the sound quality is very nice and pleasant regardless if you’re using it to play games, watch movies or listen to music.
The mic is completely made out of plastic and non-removable. It is adjustable up to 120 degrees so this would help a lot in aligning the mic correctly to where your mouth is. The mic captures my voice with extreme clarity, I tried recording my voice and the results were amazingly clear. And according to my friends who could hear me during a Dota 2 match, my voice came out nice, clear and crisp without any kind of background noise.
The headband is made from matte-finished plastic, its padded and has height adjustment for added comfort. It could easily fit different head shapes and sizes perfectly. Also, it is not too tight and doesn’t squeeze my normal asian-sized head. I’m very pleased with how comfortable the headset is. Weighing at 340 grams, I consider it as a lightweight gaming headset.
There is also a mesh made of fabric and a piece of cloth underneath the mesh covering the headphone drivers. The cushions or ear-pads are covered with leather and comfortably soft. The ear cushions can enclose my ears perfectly with good ventilation and isolation from outside ambient sounds. I have no issues using the Sades SA-902 for multiple hours for it is surprisingly comfortable and could stay on my head even for as long as 5 hours or more without any complaints from pain or numbness.
One nice feature of the Sades SA-902 is 7.1 virtual surround sound. With the feature turned on, it can produce accurate 360-degree sound. By default this feature is disabled but could be turned on easily by enabling the Spatial Sound feature on Windows 10 or using the Sades 7.1 Gaming Headset software which is powered by Xear Surround Sound Technology. It works as expected, giving you precise 7 point accuracy of your surroundings.
I would suggest installing this software so you could make a couple of adjustments with some of its settings and play around with its added features such as the equalizer, environment effects, Xear SingFX, Xear Surround Max and turn on the 7.1 Virtual Surround feature.
Based on my experience, enabling the environment effects and setting it up to Padded Cell and Small Room Size dramatically increases the bass output, boosting its power and making the bass strong and more powerful. And doing this doesn’t effect the sound quality at all. Every note and sound still comes out clean and well-balanced.
The 7.1 Virtual Speaker Shifter allows you to enable 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound. This is also where you could adjust the intensity and location of each channel for a little customization.
Overall, I love the Sades SA-902 Gaming Headset. Its affordable and functions really well as a PC gaming headset. It feels durable-enough, has great sound quality and very comfortable even if used for hours. The added 7.1 virtual surround sound, extra features as well as the overall design and other customization options work really well for me making it a beautifully-crafted and easily likeable gaming headset. I would definitely recommend this to my friends without second thought especially to those who want a gaming headset that has a perfect balance between price and quality.
